Fortune is Chris Brown’s 5th studio album. There are 14 tracks and I’m surprised that about 5 of them had been released as singles before the album even came out. Usually it only takes two singles. Hopefully that helped his album sells because we know it’s hard for artists to sell albums due to the ever so wonderful internet. Well, the album is what should be expected. Chris didn’t step outside of any boxes on this one. All of the songs are typical. By no means, is this a bad thing, just normal for his artistry.
His album cover for this LP is very cryptic. Instead of spelling out Fortune on the cover, you will find him in a nice suit with symbols similar to hieroglyphics. I guess this is supposed to create interactivity with his fans to search online for the meaning(s). Not sure, but that seems like a young person’s game; like middle school. I can’t imagine who else would be searching online for the symbol meanings. But then again, I have no idea what the average person’s motivation is. They might like doing that type of thing.
This album is good and solid. I can’t imagine being award worthy but with his popularity, you never know. That of course has shown time and time again to outshine the most talented.
