Nationally renowned justice advocates, Sibil “Fox” and Robert “Rob” Richardson (Fox and Rob), stars of the Oscar-nominated documentary TIME (2020), have launched #TimeIIWatch: A Juneteenth Campaign for Freedom, a groundbreaking impact campaign designed to amplify their long-awaited sequel TIME II: Unfinished Business, while igniting a nationwide movement for systemic justice ahead of its Juneteenth release. Fueled by the declaration “To Be Free is to Free Others,” #TimeIIWatch transforms art into activism, serving as a participatory action tool rather than mere entertainment. The #TimeIIWatch campaign deliberately connects America’s past to its present, revealing how the 13th Amendment’s loophole perpetuates bondage through our criminal justice system. This historic initiative calls upon 1 million people to join a first-ever revolutionary hybrid watch party experience that transcends a typical movie premiere and mobilizes collective action to complete the unfinished work of freedom that Juneteenth began. Participants across the nation and abroad will unite, virtually and in-person, on June 19, 2025, to witness Fox and Rob’s continued fight for justice — not just for their nephew who remains incarcerated, but for countless families torn apart by mass incarceration.
Through the #TimeIIWatch campaign Fox and Rob are also partnering with the Amistad Research Center in New Orleans, the oldest, largest and most comprehensive independent—held black archive. By contributing $1 of every film sold to Amistad this campaign transforms Juneteenth from commutation into action, hence, raising $1 Million dollars for one of our nation’s last bastions, preserving authentic Black narratives that powerful forces seek to silence.
