I’ll admit it-I have a thing for girl groups. The bigger the hair, the cuter the outfits, the more pounds of make-up-the better! I first noticed the American Socialitez at the V-103 Car and Radio show back in June, and who wouldn’t notice five beautiful young girls with perfectly coordinated outfits? Being a sucker for music and fashion I was an insta-fan.

The producer and manager of the group, Dralan Levi, clearly adheres to the adage “All Good Things Come with Time”-tackling the building and marketing of the group as if he were aging a fine wine. After a grueling seven month audition process that ended in May of 2011, over a year has gone by without a music release. “The girls went through several months of vocal training and studio etiquette before they started recording music.” Levi said in an interview this month. “They began recording songs for their project in the fall of 2011.” Time has also been spent refining their stage personas and particular innovative brand. One can tell the group management is business savvy and brand driven-their much hyped You Tube channel is full of slick, professional grade videos promoting the girls October 2012 EP release.

“The American Socialitez considers themselves to be a fashion forward group that delivers melodic pop sounds and smashing vocals. American Socialitez was founded on the understanding of a young female’s most intuitive needs- desires pertaining to how they look, what makes them feel confident, social awareness and expressing the luxurious lifestyle that many live or fantasize about living.” Levi continued, “They understand they are a brand and not just a group.”

The group consists of members Demi Roux, Alyxx Gervais, Piper Donavin, Bowheart Jacobs and Neyah Giovanni. While three members has the magic number for female pop groups Destiny’s Child and TLC of the past, the “Socialitez” seem content to blaze their own path: pretty faces with even prettier voices with a sweeter more “all-american girl” persona.
