As we all know, fashion is very cyclical. And if you pay close attention to some of the current trends, you may notice that they’ve appeared before in classic movies before. Permed or natural the bouffant hairstyle has reemerged, with people like Janelle Monae rocking the look in a sophisticated way. Nola Darling, who played the quintessential Brooklyn woman, sported the hairstyle in Spike Lee’s first major film in 1986.
